The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has launched an online TV resource for small businesses.
Smallbusinessadvice.tv, supported by computer firms Dell and Intel, has been created to offer specialist advice to small business owners.
A recent survey sponsored by Dell of over 700 business owners found that a quarter thought that existing TV programmes dumbed down the public's perception of real business people.
Hosted by Sean Walsh, former CNBC anchor and senior producer of BBC TV News, the first show airs on 28 November and focuses on how business owners can manage their way out of the financial crisis.
Further instalments will look at the value of social networking for small business and how SMEs can reduce energy costs and their environmental impact.
There will also be downloadable 'how to' videos, with tips on how to overcome common problems faced by SMEs, and access to business case studies.
John Dunsmure said: "I meet with businesses every day and have often heard criticism about the usefulness of a great deal of current business programming.
"Smallbusinessadvice.tv is designed to plug this gap for targeted and highly practical content."
