Apprentice search begins again
Sir Alan Sugar's search for his next apprentice starts tonight on BBC One.
The Apprentice, now in its fourth series, has been a major ratings hit for the BBC. Last year's final attracted 6.8 million viewers.
Among the 16 candidates vying to be Sir Alan's pick in 2008, there is the usual mix of fresh graduates, serial entrepreneurs and business managers.
Twenty-four-year-old business school graduate Alex Wotherspoon is quoted as saying: "I expect people to obey clear instructions. If this doesn't happen I become annoyed."
Another candidate, risk manager Lucinda Ledgerwood, says: "I push boundaries in both personal and professional senses and enjoy being out of my comfort zone."
Along with Dragons' Den and other recent reality TV shows, The Apprentice has been credited with encouraging a surge of interest in entrepreneurship over the last few years.
The Apprentice begins tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
